Christ Lives in MeJesus Christ became my personal Savior early in my childhood when I was attending the children's meetings in the local church in Vancouver. I was singing with everyone else and tears of joy began rolling down my face. I couldn't explain it, but Jesus had entered my heart. The Lord has been like a bubbling spring of living water within me since that day. The local church in Vancouver is like my second home. The Christians who meet there are like my extended family. I trust them and have shared many experiences of Christ with them. One meeting that I particularly enjoy every week is the Lord's Table. To have all the brothers and sisters together praising and worshipping our precious Lord Jesus is a wonderful and glorious thing. I love the Lord and I love His Body, the Church. The local churches exist in many different places around the world but they share all the same characteristics because the source, God the Father, is the same everywhere. I will be eternally grateful to the Lord for putting me in such a caring and healthy environment for the growth of my spiritual life and the advancement of His purpose. Christ as the life-giving spirit In their ministry, Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were faithful to speak only the healthy words of the apostles' teaching as revealed in the New Testament. Their ministry has helped me to focus on and experience the Christ revealed in the entire Bible--from Genesis to Revelation. By reading their works, my eyes have been opened to see the revelation of God in the Scriptures. Today, Christ is the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45). As the Spirit, He dispenses the divine life into our being. This is His primary work in His eternal plan as seen in the New Testament. The Christian life begins with receiving Christ as life and it grows to maturity by continually receiving grace (Christ Himself). As a young person meeting with the local church, I can testify that writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have helped me to know my human spirit, by which I can contact the Lord in a regular way. My experience of Christ has been enriched and deepened because of what these two authors have written concerning the Bible. Joseph Hou | Back to List |
